Abigail’s Asylum is a Michigan based metal band focusing on raw energy, immersive horror narratives, and intriguing mystery. Originally starting back in 2009, instrumentalist Paul Anderson wanted to base a band off from urban legends, ghost stories, and unsolved true crime. Having to put the project on back burner throughout his adult years, it resurfaced 15 years later in late 2024 with the sound you know it as today. After recruiting vocalist Ashtyn Holic, the project found its perfect duo with Anderson on instrumentals and Holic on vocals. Together they discovered an intriguing story present as a horror mystery.
The music itself combines a variety of elements from 90’s/2000’s Nu-metal to modern day techniques. Drawing inspiration from bands with vocals such as Otep and In This Moment and instrumentals from Slipknot, Sleep Token, Mudvayne, etc; However, behind the music is where the project truly thrives. Each song, a chapter of the story. Each chapter, a series of clues. The band presents the mystery of Abigail, a girl who went missing from Minyas Asylum without a trace. As viewers listen to the songs and view the material, they are subconsciously being fed clues and puzzles all leading to the answer of the big question: What happened to Abigail?
